Once Yuta locks down on a particular interest, he will study intensively about the subject and commit to it like it is a full time job; he has to be completely involved to feel satisfied. This is due to his high standards, but as a side effect, he is very critical about his own work and himself as a person. If things do not meet his expectations, he may resort to self-blaming. To save himself from further embarrassment, he tends to keep issues to himself. His lack of social skills does not help either... However, for those patient enough to work past his easily flustered and awkward self, they will eventually be greeted by his friendly and reliable, resourceful side. In other words, he will make a loyal and thoughtful friend!

History:
Yuta is a single child born into a family of landscape painters. He lived with his parents and grandparents under the same roof. The first floor of the house functioned as an art shop and the upper floor served as a typical living space. Once Yuta was old enough to run around, he would help insert little paintings into photo frames and arrange wooden dolls inside the display cases. With this constant exposure to art, Yuta dived into the world of painting at a very young age. As cheesy as it is, part of the reason was to further bond with his family through art.

Later, he enrolled in a local public school for general studies. However, he did not stop helping out with the family business; on the weekends, he diligently studied painting with his mother. During the painting lessons, his mother would tell him tales of his great grandparents - stories about how they were historical figures well-known for their expertise in magic and their innovative spells, and how they were two of the best professors in Breezewake Magic Academy. After hearing this, Yuta aspired to become a great wizard like them.

Ever since then, he would spend all of his free time in Maerin Library to study every book there is available about magic - he became obsessed. Naturally, the focus of his paintings shifted from landscape to fantasy and surrealism. Because he could not perform any magic, art served as his outlet. Books and art consumed his life.

Over the years, his grandparents noticed that he was too babied by his parents and came to the conclusion that this caused him to put little effort into making friends. The seniors tried to convince his parents that he needed to be more independent and living alone may urge him to get out of home and build new relationships. While they were still hesitant about this suggestion, they figured it was for the best and ushered Yuta out of their house after he graduated from school. The last things they did for him was help him find a place and get settled for his first few months of living alone. Unfortunately, this sudden change of lifestyle backfired and Yuta only became even more reclusive and cautious of strangers because he had to look after himself. He does, however for a different reason, leave his home more often to save himself from utter boredom to travel around and paint…  

Magical Ability: Beginner level. He has not had any professional training, and looks forward to enrolling in Breezewake Magic Academy as soon as it is open to learn about magical potions. He has read almost every book about magic in the library to prepare for that day!

Personal View: “In all honesty, I’m afraid of the ominous prophecy, but if the eggs serve as a chance to better the world, I will try to do what I can to help. People say The Agate City is the ancient symbol of our strength together, correct? In that case, I will try to hold on to this little hope and trust I have...”
